Canon EOS R100 Manual

The EOS R100 Advanced User Guide covers battery and card setup, viewfinder photography, autofocus, exposure modes, movies, playback, and connecting to a phone. Use the menu diagrams for settings that are hidden in automatic modes.

Official manufacturer manual

This is Canon’s English EOS R100 Advanced User Guide. Select EOS R100 in Camera Connect and on Canon support when following connection instructions.

Free guide hosted by the manufacturer. Opens in a new tab.

Getting started

  1. Charge the battery and insert it with a compatible SD-family card, then attach the lens as shown in the guide.
  2. Set the display language, date, time, and time zone. Save existing card files elsewhere before any in-camera formatting.
  3. Use Scene Intelligent Auto for a first photo and half-press the shutter to focus before pressing fully.

Cleaning and maintenance

Keep the lens and camera contacts clean using the handling guidance. Use the documented sensor-cleaning procedure rather than touching the sensor or spraying cleaning fluid into the body.

Common questions

Why can I not change settings by touching the screen?

Use the R100’s physical buttons and dial. Its controls differ from touchscreen models such as EOS R50.

Which card should I choose for movies?

Check the movie-recording card requirements for the selected resolution and frame rate. Capacity alone does not establish sufficient writing speed.

How do I connect a phone?

Open the guide’s Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connection section and follow the Camera Connect pairing steps for EOS R100.
