Getting started
- Clean the removable parts, fill the water tank, and confirm the drip tray is in place.
- Collect water in a 500 ml container under the portafilter and wand and complete the first-use cycle.
- Prepare a basket of coffee and brew. For automatic milk texturing, position the jug on the temperature sensor as illustrated.
Cleaning and maintenance
Clean the steam wand after milk use and let the automatic purge finish as directed. Cleaning the coffee system and descaling are separate procedures in this guide.
Common questions
Why is automatic milk texturing inconsistent?
Check that the jug contacts the temperature sensor, the milk level is within the indicated marks, and the steam tip is clear.
Does the Bambino BES450 use the same cleaning steps?
No. Use the BES500 instructions for the Plus model’s cleaning disk, prompts, and button combinations.
Why does a shot run too quickly?
Check freshness, grind, dose, and basket choice. The extraction chart explains adjustments for a fast, pale shot.
