Getting started
- Wash the removable accessories and follow the water-hardness setup instructions.
- Complete the first-use water flush before brewing a drink. The guide shows the required basket, portafilter position, and collection cup.
- Choose a brew, adjust the grind dial to the recommendation if desired, then grind and prepare the basket as instructed.
Cleaning and maintenance

Why does the grind recommendation change?
Barista Assist recommends a setting using the beans and previous brew output. The side dial sets the current grind size.
Is cleaning the same as descaling?

What should I do before the first coffee?
